Senior Activities Committee Parent Meeting

March 5, 2019 (7-9pm)

Welcome and thank you all for coming. We want to start off the meeting talking about fundraisers. We definitely need to get the word out regarding the upcoming fundraisers and get Corporate Sponsors.

FUNDRAISERS:

• A’s Game: Foothill Day with the A’s (Saturday, April 20^th)
• 11am: BBQ Tailgate put on by FAB
• 1:05pm: Game starts (bobblehead giveaway at entry)
• (Note: No re-entry into the game once you leave the stadium)

- The FHS Choir will be singing the National Anthem at the game

- All money for tickets should be placed in the A's Box on the Senior Table in the office - accross from the attendance desk

- $2 of each ticket will go towards ALS Therapy Development Institute in honor of former Foothill employee Gretchen Piscotty

- 200 seats are blocked off in one area: #105 - Right outfield (above the walkway)

- Deadline for buying tickets: March 15^th

• Graduation Lei’s (organized by Sara Petty)
• - $35 each ($10 towards Safe & Sober Grad Night)
• - Sara Petty is making the lei by hand – special orders can be requested
• - Regular lei includes: flowers w/starburst candies and one $3-flower (see flyer)
• - Special lei orders needed asap: (i.e., different colored flowers, candies, money flowers, etc.)
• - Deadline for ordering lei(s): April 1

• Power Cards for Dave and Buster’s Safe & Sober Grad Night (organized by Michelle Still)
• - $10 or $20 Power Cards are being offered (FHS gets 50% of sales)
• - 75% of the games at Dave & Buster's will be free – but there are some “special/advanced” games that will require money such as photo booths and virtual reality rides (this is where the Power Cards will come in handy for the kids)
• - Power Cards can be purchased for Easter Baskets, Graduation gifts, birthdays, etc....

• Special “THANK YOU” Shout Out for Fundraising Help:
• - Gina Lyng (Senior/Parent T-Shirts) – raised $300
• - Tammy Garcia (jewelry sales) – raised $640
• - Maxine Ricci (Tommy T’s Comedy) – raised $2,000 (sold 100 tickets)
• - Sara Petty (Leis) - raised $390 (so far!)

UPCOMING SENIOR ACTIVITY EVENTS:

• After Ball Breakfast (organized by Tammy Garcia)
• - May 11-12 (FHS MPR)
• - Need approx. 35 parents to help with the breakfast
• - Need help on getting donations
• - Suggested donations from: Jelly Donut, The Dairy, Eddie Papas, etc.
• - Sandy Dunlop (Nestle) to donate juices, hot chocolate, coffee, etc.

• Baccalaureate (organized by Renee Mahdavi)
• - Sunday, May 19^th (3pm) at Valley Community Church
• - Baccalaureate is a faith based, non-denominational ceremony
• - Please RSVP by emailing a jpeg kindergarten picture of your student to

• Graduation Ceremony
• - May 31 (5:30pm) Sweeney Athletic Complex
• - gates open at 4:45pm
• - 6 graduation tickets given to each student
• - Deadline: Last day to order Cap and Gown with rush order: April 9th

• Senior Awards Lunch (organized by Tiffany Alley)
• - Tuesday, May 28^th (11:30-1pm)
• - Set up will start at 10am
• 
  
• Disneyland Grad Night (organized by Cheryl Thoe)
• - June 3-5
• - June 3^rd (9:30-12pm: checking in kids before boarding)
• - There will be an upcoming informational meeting in April (TBA)
• - There will be a google doc sent out in May for seating
• - There will be a parent/volunteer lottery done in mid-May

• Dave and Buster's – Safe & Sober Grad Night (organized by Michelle Still)
• - May 31-June 1^st
• - May 31^st (10pm at FHS small gym) to June 1^st (6am pickup at FHS)
• - Students bring nothing with them to Dave & Busters (except maybe cell phones, Power Cards or extra money if Power Cards have not been purchased)
• - Requesting junior parents as chaperones
• Two different shift times per chaperone: (1) 11:30-2:30am; or (2) 2am-5am
• • 2 parent chaperones will be on each bus
• • Students will be checked by security before loading onto the buses
• • If unable to be a chaperone – volunteers also needed for Check-in and Greet
• (FHS small gym), and security check
• - Dave & Buster Package includes:
• • Students will have new and different food coming out every hour with unlimited soda all night
• • Unlimited arcade games, billiards, and ping pong
• • 2 DJs, dance floor, Karaoke room, and quiet room available
• • Music videos playing all night long, and much, much more.
• - Deadlines:
• • March 15^th - Grad Night money ($50) and Permission form due
• • May 10^th – Senior memory collages due (optional) – displayed during Grad Night
