1588 nurses participated in our 2017 Survey on Influenza Vaccination. Results showed that 36.0% received vaccination before the influenza season last Winter (2016/17), giving a rise from the 32.8% recorded in the previous year (2015/16).

1177 nurses participated in our 2016 Survey on Influenza Vaccination. Results showed that 32.8% received vaccination before the influenza season last Winter (2015/2016), giving a rise from the 28% recorded in the previous year (2014/15).

Over 800 nurses participated in our 2014 Survey on Influenza Vaccination. Results showed that 32% received vaccination before the influenza season last Winter (2013/2014), representing a rise from the 30% recorded in the previous year (2012/13).

This year's nurse survey on influenza vaccination has been completed by the end of May. We are analyzing the collected data to estimate the vaccination coverage.

A new round of survey would be launched next month (March 2014). Members of Association of Hong Kong Nursing staff will be invited through email to join the online e-survey. Incentive, in form of meal coupons would be available to the first 1500 respondents.

From results collected from surveys in the past years, seasonal influenza vaccination coverage in nurses has dropped from 57% in 2005 to 24% in 2012. The main reason for receiving vaccination was self-protection, whereas that for non-vaccination was concern about side effects. (Link)

Low flu vaccination coverage in middle aged people - A survey was conducted in Tsuen Wan District targeting households with member(s) of age 50-64. Among 441 respondents, only 13% had received influenza vaccination before the winter influenza season in 2012. (Link)

Over 2000 nurses participated in our 2013 Survey on Influenza Vaccination. Results showed that 30.7% received vaccination before the influenza season last Winter (2012/2013), representing a rise from the 24% recorded in the previous year (2011/12).

A new round of survey has been launched in the first quarter of 2013. Questionnaire were delivered by post to members of Association of Hong Kong Nursing staff in the first week of March. Incentive, in form of book coupons would be available to the first 1000 respondents.

In March/April 2012, 655 nurses joined the latest round of survey on influenza vaccination. About 85% of the respondents were female, with one-third of age between 26 and 45. The proportion of nurses who had received influenza vaccination at the end of 2011, i.e. before the 2012 influenza season, was 24.6
