The purpose of the picture collection is not to create an exhaustive reference but to share with others some 'botanical encounters'. The picture plates are not accompanied by plant descriptions.
Florimages Nederland
This section has recently started (June 2023). Its goal is to provide a picture gallery of common plants of the Netherlands for educational purpose. The species names are those of the Heukels' Flora van Nederland (2020).
Flora of Northern and Central Oman & Brunei Plants
This part of the website dates from 2011. Unfortunately, due to changes in Picasa albums and Googles sites, it became dysfunctional. The reconstruction and re-organization are in progress but many pages remain hidden from navigation. The picture plates from the sultanate of Oman carry the names used in 2010, they may not be current. In the picture collection from Brunei Darussalam, some plants are identified to the species/genus level, some only to the family level (APGIII), others not at all. They are certainly errors in identification here and there, comments and help in identification are very welcome.
Jacqueline Henrot lived in the sultanate of Oman from 2002 to 2007. She worked at the Oman National Herbarium and as botanical consultant for, among others, HMR and 5-Oceans, performing botanical surveys as part of environmental impact assessments.
From 1995 to 1998 and 2007 to 2011, she lived in Brunei Darussalam. She assisted the Brunei National Herbarium in its database development and shortlisted & documented the plant species endemic to Brunei Darussalam. She also collaborated with the Brunei Forestry department and was active in the Panaga Natural History Society, as secretary and chairperson, with Peter Engbers and Hans Dols.
At present, she is guest researcher at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in the Netherlands.

A few highlights:
'Discovering' (collecting and co-authoring) Campylanthus hajarensis Hjertson, Henrot & Thulin. ----- 'Campylanthus hajarensis sp. nov. and a new record of Campylanthus (Scrophulariaceae) from Oman'. Nordic Journal of Botany 26: 35-37, 2008. M. Hjertson, J. Henrot and M. Thulin. (I had just read a review of the genus Campylanthus. At first sight I recognized that the humble bush at my feet was a species 'new to science'. Great feeling.)
Rediscovering Hoya wallichii, last seen in 1894, just before it was declared extinct. ---- 'Hoya wallichii: confused, extinct, and rediscovered!' Gardenwise 41:18-19, 2013. M. Rodda and J. Henrot. (This time again, at first sight I thought: 'new to science!'. The story was more complex but therefore even more interesting.)
Shortlisting of the endemic plants of Brunei and finding back, in the wild, rare endemic species not seen for the last 30 years. ---- 'The Flowering plants endemic to Brunei Darussalam 2012'. J. Henrot, Joffre A.A., K.M. Wong. 2013. ISBN 978-99917-31-07-0. 119 pages. (Exciting fieldwork in the footsteps of Peter Ashton.)
