Fledgling Codgers
Fledgling Codgers is an idea that music is universal and multi-generational. There is no rule in life that says someone over 60 can't rock out with a metal band, or one that says a young person has to play alternative style music to be considered a "cool" musician. It's not even unusual for a cute little girl to scream an original song on national TV or a punk band to cover "Call Me Maybe" (or even a symphony orchestra).
To that end comes the concept of Fledgling Codgers. ONLY THE MUSIC MATTERS ...
ONLY THE MUSIC MATTERS
II am Jeff Dingfeld, known in many circles as (among other things) Jeffrey Michael Fields. It's been a privilege to share this body with my other personna over the years. Having started out as a guitar player and only switching to bass (circa 1970) because I drew the short straw (and the other guitar players were better) I truly found my calling on this misunderstood instrument. I'm guessing that's why my basses and I get along so well. So even though I've ventured into playing other instruments, I always come back to the comfort of my 4-stringed friends.
Over the years I have been blessed to play with many amazing musicians, to quote Ray Davies "Some that you recognize, some that you've probably never heard of." I appreciate all of their influence on my playing and my life and pay homage to those that I can remember in my "Magic 8-Ball" brain (and those that will eventually float to the top).
