Setup

We will work through this in class on the first day, but I highly recommend you try to do all these on your own before hand. You will learn a lot, and will also be able to help other students in class if necessary. Don't worry if you aren't successful with some of them, we'll get them all working in class.

Google Chrome

      1. Open this page in Google Chrome. If you don't have Google Chrome, please download and install it.

    2. Sign in to Google Chrome using your LPS google account (lpsk12.org account). This will allow you to sync your bookmarks, apps and extensions.

    4. If it's not already showing, make sure your Bookmarks Bar is showing. (Turn it on in Settings-->Bookmarks.) Then:
      1. Create a folder in the bookmarks bar titled 'Algebra'. (Right-click or control-click on the Bookmarks Bar, choose Add Folder.)
      2. Go to each of the following links (they will open in a new tab) and bookmark them, adding each bookmark into the Algebra folder you created above.

    6. Install the following apps and extensions in Chrome. For each one, click on the link, then click on 'Add to Chrome' in the window that opens.

        3. Daum Equation Editor App

Google Drive

      1. Go to Google Drive. Login with your LPS google apps login (lpsk12.org account).
      2. Click New, then choose Folder. Name it Algebra, then click Create.
      3. Make sure the Algebra folder is highlighted (it should be), then click on the Share button.
      1. In the window that opens, click on the Advanced button in the lower right corner.
      2. Next to where it says Private, click Change . . .
      3. Click the circle in front of On - Anyone with the link and leave access as "View", then click Save, then click Done.
      4. Double-click the Algebra folder in Drive to open it. Bookmark it by clicking the star icon in the search box at the top. Place the bookmark inside your Algebra Folder in your Bookmarks Bar.

Desmos

      1. We will be using Desmos a lot. A. Lot. Go to Desmos. (No screencast, but ask if you have any questions.)
      2. Click on "Sign In" in the upper right corner.
      3. Click Sign In with Your Google Account. If you are already logged in to your lpsk12.org account from above, it will ask you permission to use your google account. If you aren't signed in, you'll need to sign in.
