Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (PBGC)
Navigant Consulting, Inc., a Delaware corporation, was retained as Settlement Director in September 1996 by the Page Collins Class Action Settlement Board (CASB) to administer the Page Collins class action settlement (Page Settlement). TMS Group (later to become ClaimTrack and finally Administar) was engaged by Navigant to write the software and create the database to manage the settlement. The Page Settlement was a national, complex, pension class action settlement regarding the determination and distribution of settlement benefits. This case involved over 250,000 participants in 11,500 pension plans that were terminated by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) between 1976 and 1981. To date, settlement benefits of over $1 billion have been disbursed, making this one of the largest pension class action in U. S. history. I actively supported the system that is used to run this settlement until 2018.
Administar
The developers of ClaimTrack took the experience and lessons learned from Wachovia and developed a fresh new application that was light-years ahead of ClaimTrack. We called the new application Administar and proceeded to develop a new company around the platform, also called Administar. The system was able to morph itself into an unlimited number of customized configurations with any programmer intervention. This made it a remarkably easy to adapt and adjust to changing client requirements. The success of Administar as a platform and a company was recognized when it was finally purchased by Computershare LLC and ultimately managed by Kurtzman Carson Consultants (KCC) to be marked as a world-class class action litigation administrator.
ClaimTrack
ClaimTrack was a major breakthrough in claims processing software when first introduced in 1992. In its original form, it was a DOS program and was the basis for a hugely profitable business called TMS Group. In 1997 we underwent a transformation from DOS to a Windows-based platform and were able to migrate hundreds of client databases transparently to the new system. ClaimTrack was the foundation of the business which was later sold to First Union National Bank, later to be merged into Wachovia National Bank.
