About the artist: Ian Copestake

Painting has been a passion of mine since I was a child. As a teenager growing up in Great Britain I won the Everett Jones Drawing Prize and continued to paint and draw as a hobby while pursuing my academic career as a professor of American literature. My teaching career brought me to Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where I am now based. I established my first art reproduction website in 2000 and have sold countless paintings to people all across the world, many of which are featured on this site. I am especially fond of figure paintings, whether in oil or pastel, and have an especial regard for artists such as Degas. My commissions have introduced me to artists whose work I might otherwise not have seen before, such as the Cuban artists Fidelio Ponce and Victor Manuel Garcia, or the wonderful twentieth-century Chinese artist Lin Fengmian, work from each of whom I have enjoyed reproducing for clients in the past. I very much look forward to working with you to reproduce works of art that you love.
