Welcome to Central District where we "Plant America: Make us Good Stewards of the Earth"

Welcome to Central District, one of eight districts that constitute the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri, Inc. (FGCM).  It is my pleasure to serve as Director of the district for the 2023-2025 term where we continue being good stewards of the land.

Centered primarily around Columbia and Jefferson City, our Central District stretches north to Centralia and south to the Lake of the Ozarks encompassing 12 counties. The gardening hardiness zones, moderated by the Lake and the Missouri River, range from 5a to 6b.

The district consists of 9 federated garden clubs with membership totaling (number coming soon for 2024).  In addition to being a part of the state organization (FGCM), Central District is affiliated with National Garden Club, Inc. (NGC), the largest volunteer organization in the world.  We are also a member of the regional affiliate, NGC Central Region.  We are proud to support the goals and objectives of each of these three organizations.

Joining a garden club is enriching, educational and a way to meet people with the same interests wanting to grow in being good stewards of the earth.
