Dr. Aderohunmu is currently a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna-TeCIP Institute:National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT), Pisa Italy. He is involved with the European Union FP7 Intelligent Cooperative Sensing for Improved traffic efficiency (ICSI) project. He is currently participating in the ISO TC204 WG 16 standardization activities (on behalf of CNIT), where he is in charge of drafting the Technical Specifications for 6LoWPAN and CoAP protocols for the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). He received a Ph.D. degree in Information Science in 2013 and MS.c. in Telecommunications with Distinction in 2010 both from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He obtained BS.c. degree in Computer Science with a First Class honors from the University for Development Studies, Ghana in 2006.
From 2012 to 2013 he was a visiting research fellow at the Micro Electronic Laboratory (MICREL), of the University of Bologna under the Supervision of Prof. Luca Benini, where he developed light-weight prediction algorithms for Energy-efficient Wireless Sensor Networks as part of the EU FP7 projects: EEB-ENV-3ENCULT.
He has authored several scientific publications in international journals and IEEE conferences. He is active in the area of energy-efficient smart sensors, sensor networks for environmental and ambient intelligence applications and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. He is an active IEEE member.
His areas of expertise include Networking and Application (TCP/IP, UDP, 6LoWPAN, CoAP protocols), Simulation (Contiki/Cooja, NS-2), Data Analysis (R programming), Programming (C, C++, Python, Java, Matlab), Website Design (PHP, XHTML & CSS, CMS (Joomla and Drupal)).
