About me

I am Chaplin Tyler Professor of Finance and Faculty Director of Research at the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. I am also a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and sit on its Content Advisory Board. My primary research interests are in empirical corporate finance with a focus on corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions, but my more recent work also investigates topics related to social trust, sell-side equity analysts, institutional investors, politics and finance, and fintech.  

I have published in a wide range of top academic journals including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, and Contemporary Accounting Research. My research has received several awards and garnered significant citations.
