My major personal passion is music. I've been playing keyboards in a soul- and funk-band since university. And eversince, I've been playing in various bands.
Furthermore, I've been taking pictures as long as I can remember. Although I consider photography not really as my hobby, I cannot resist bringing my camera to special occasions.
More recently, I started to dive into my ancestoral roots, currently uncovering traces back to the 6th century. I have to admit that, in compiling my family tree, I finally got a true understanding of the "power of 2".
My professional life has evolved around image- and video-processing. As a scientist at Philips Research, I'm getting the opportunity to investigate applications in medical areas, in consumer products and in lighting, most of which is reflected in my list of publications.
