Francesco Ciccarello is a Full Professor of Physics of Matter (PHYS-04/A, formerly FIS/03) at University of Palermo and Associate Researcher of NEST, Pisa, CNRNano.
In 2016-17, he was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Research Scholarship which was spent at Duke University, USA. Formerly, he was a postdoctoral research associate at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa (2011-2012) and a visiting fellow at Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom (2008).
He is member of the Editorial Board of the journals: Quantum, Entropy (MDPI), Plos One (PLOS), Journal of Physics Communications (IoP) and former Editor of JOSA B (Optica). He is editor of the Entropy’s special issue titled “Quantum Collision Models".
He serves as referee for several international peer-reviewed journals including Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Nature Photonics, npj Quantum Information, Nature Quantum Materials, Physical Review Letters, PRX Quantum, Quantum Science & Technology, Quantum.
He gave 25 invited talks and another 20 contributed talks at international conferences and workshops plus about 30 invited talks at various international academic institutions and research centers, including Oxford University, Imperial College, ETH Zurich, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Purdue University, Stanford University, EPFL Lausanne, TU Munich.
He authored about 70 papers published in ISI peer-reviewed journals, including Physical Review Letters, Optica, Physics Reports, Nanophotonics, Quantum Science & Technology, Scientific Reports, Physical Review X, Physical Review Research, Optics & Photonics News, Nature Communications.
