Click here for upcoming volunteer opportunities! Have something specific in mind? Simply send an email to fcepto@gmail.com and we’ll get you plugged in!
You can also connect with us on Instagram (@fox_creek_pto) and Facebook (Fox Creek Elementary Parents Page).
Also, check our messages in the weekly school Fox Tales where we often ask for help with events and let you know how you can get involved! We are always looking people to help on event committees. We believe many hands make light work and have found committees are a great way to plan and execute the events we sponsor. It’s also a lot of fun and a great way to meet people and give back to your community!
Here is a list of our current volunteer opportunities and links to sign up (when applicable)!
Become a Room Parent:
Room Parents play a key role in communicating and organizing classroom parties and events. They also assist in sending communication from the PTO to their classroom parents. This position is primarily done through email communication.
Event Committee Open Positions:
Assist with planning one (or more!) of the following events:
Movie Night (August) - Help plan & organize this free event to kick off the start of the school year! Assist with set up, tear down and help with any additional activities during the event. This usually takes place on a Friday evening.
Trunk-or-Treat (October) - Help plan & organize the trunks, assist with set-up, tear down and help with any additional activities available during the event. Opportunities to help collect and procure candy and toy donations for trunks are also available. This usually takes place on a Friday evening.
Fox Trot (November) - Help plan and host this annual fundraiser where all funds raised go directly back to our school. Opportunities to assist in the planning and execution of the Fox Trot (a fun run) are also needed. This usually takes place on a school day morning.
Silent Auction (February) - Become a part of the PTO’s biggest fundraiser that supports our school. Help procure donations from local businesses (restaurants, spas, gyms, etc.), as well as items from our school community. This is completely remote aside from picking up any physical donations from donors.
Carnival (February) - Help to plan and execute this one-day event. Opportunities to help set-up, run and tear-down carnival games and prize room are needed.
Literacy Night (March/April) - Help plan and execute this annual event designed to encourage a love of reading in all our FCE students! We have partnered with our school librarian as well as the Douglas County Libraries and local children's authors.
School Dance (May) - Help plan and execute the annual dance. This involves helping choose a theme, coordinating decorations, and event set-up and tear down on the day of the event.
Please be sure to sign in and out each time you volunteer in the building. The 'sign in' page is located in the window to the front office directly as you walk in the building. In order to volunteer within the school, there are some required forms. Contact the school directly for more information.
If you are interested in volunteering in your child's classroom, please contact your child's teacher directly. Each teacher utilizes parent volunteers uniquely, so you will always find that "just right" experience in the class through your child's teacher.
It is the District's goal to have one hour volunteered per month for every student in the school. As quoted in the District Volunteer Handbook: "Research tells us that when schools work together with families to support learning, children tend to succeed not just in school, but throughout life."
