- Distributed Power Generation: By the development of generation technologies, the integration of small-sized generators such as diesel generators, solar and wind power plants have been increasing day by day. Unlike the central generation concept, Those small-sized generators are located near load centers and they affect the course of power flow, voltage, and power loss characteristics of power systems. When distributed generation is considered, power systems should be analyzed by different point of views and using new techniques.Â
- Power System Planning for Renewable Generation Integrated Systems: Power system planning is the study of determining decision variables in order to operate power systems efficiently and in an economical manner. Those studies have been carried out since 1960's and it shows the importance of the planning studies. However, planning problems should be revised considering the integration of renewable power generation in the recent years. Especially, the intermittent and uncertain nature of renewable power generation should be considered in objective functions in an appropriate manner. Thus, it is obvious that new studies should be done covering this topic.
