Farida finished her PhD in Computer Engineering from Cairo University. She obtained her M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the same university. She is currently an Assistant Professor (currently on leave) and she participated in teaching two graduate courses; Machine Intelligence and Technical Writing. Her teaching experience also included teaching tutorials and labs in twelve different undergraduate courses as a lecturer assistant and a teaching assistant .
Her main research interest is machine intelligence and its applications. Her master research was in Graph Modeling while her PhD was in Ranking for Spoken Content Transcriptions. In addition to that, she has interest in Software Engineering and Development and e-Learning. She also worked as a research assistant in cloud computing applications research group at Qatar University. She joined Qatar University as a part-time postdoc in two other projects for privacy in Bitcoin blockchain and privacy in medical wearable devices. She has published many publications in prestigious journals and conferences.
She reviewed many papers in various international conferences and journals such as Nature Portfolio journal - Digital Medicine, Applied Sciences journal by MDPI, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing , IEEE Access, International Computer Engineering Conference (ICENCO), IEEE International Conference on Informatics, IoT, and Enabling Technologies, and International Journal of Data Analysis Techniques and Strategies.
