FSHDT Alumni

Sophie began dancing at the age of 5 at Gasper's School of Dance in Fargo, ND. Throughout elementary she danced for many studios around the Fargo/Moorhead area where she focused on ballet. Starting her 6th grade year, she joined her middle school dance team, Carl Ben Eielson Aviares.

She danced with Carl Ben until her freshman year of high school where she was able to be apart of the FSH Bruinkix Dance Team. She danced on this team all four years. The team competed Pom, Kick, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Sophie's senior year she was named captain and received the opportunity to lead her team into a Small Varsity State Championship. While she was dancing with FSH, her love for dance grew, so she decided to also compete with the North Dakota Elite Erinites her junior and senior year. This team received a bid to USASF Dance Worlds both years and placed in the top 20 in 2017.

After high school, she danced for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 Bison Dance Team at North Dakota State University. She was recently named captain as she continues her dance career as a 3rd year member on the BDT. Sophie is studying Business at NDSU and loves being a Bison!

Madi danced with the Carl Ben Aviares before joining the Bruinkix her freshman year of high school. Madi was on Bruinkix all four years, and was part of the first state winning FSHDT in 2018. After graduation, Madi continued her education at North Dakota State University while also being the Head Coach of the Carl Ben Aviares. Madi also works closely with the Bruinkix at practices and is one of our biggest fans at competitions. She continues to grow our program as well as the middle school team.

Mariah was part of the Discovery's Fargo Fusion in middle school before joining the Bruinkix in 2008. After graduation Mariah continued her education at Concordia University studying Biology and Chemistry. In 2013, Mariah started coaching the Hawley/Lake Park dance team and quickly missed the familiarity of ND Dance. In the Fall of 2013, Mariah started coaching the Carl Ben Aviares Dance Team.

In 2016 Mariah decided to move up to the high school level and coach the Fargo South Bruinkix. She coached the team to their first state title ever in 2018 in the Class A Small Varsity Jazz category. Mariah continues to be involved with the Bruinkix with cleaning, choreography, and motivation throughout the season.
