About Me
Hello! I'm Fanhua Shang, an Outstanding Young Professor and PhD advisor with the College of Intelligence and Computing, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China.
From 2018 to 2022, he was a Professor with the School of Artificial Intelligence, Xidian University, China. Prior to joining Xidian University, he was a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2016 to 2018. Previously, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2013 to 2015.
I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University from 2012 to 2013.
From 2007 to 2012, I did my PhD in the School of Electronic Engineering at Xidian University.
My main research interests include: Machine Learning, Big Data, Deep Learning, Data Mining, Computer Vision.
Currently my research focuses on: Stochastic, Parallel and Distributed Optimization for Large-Scale Machine Learning,
Sparse and Low-Rank Matrix Recovery and Completion, Dimensionality Reduction and Clustering,
Large-Scale Tensor Decomposition and Completion, Semi-Supervised Learning, Manifold Learning.
