About Me


Hello! I'm Fanhua Shang, a Professor with the School of Artificial Intelligence, Xidian University, China. 
Prior to joining Xidian University, he was a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Previously, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2013--2015.

I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University from 2012--2013.
From 2007--2012, I did my PhD in the School of Electronic Engineering at Xidian University.

My main research interests include:  Machine Learning, Big Data,
                                                          Data Mining, Computer Vision.

Currently my research focuses on: Stochastic, Parallel and Distributed Optimization for Large-Scale Machine Learning,
                                                        Sparse and Low-Rank Matrix Recovery and Completion, Dimensionality Reduction and Clustering,
                                                        Large-Scale Tensor Decomposition and Completion, Semi-Supervised Learning, Manifold Learning.
