Fame Trivia

There are a number of edits to this episode on the official DVD release primarily to do with the Music.

The Main song in this episode is "Light One Candle" which was written by Albert Hague and Allan Sherman for a short lived 1969 broadway show called "The Fig Leaves Are Falling".

Sherman wrote the lyrics and whoever owns the copyright to his songs either refused for the lyrics to be used on the DVD or were requesting too much money. Therefore the decision was made to cut the song from the episode.

The song was originally performed twice:

Firstly with an uptempo gospel choir in the dance rehearsal room, and this scene has been cut from the DVD completely.

Secondly a slower version was performed at the end of the episode by a choir on stage in the auditorium. This was a more important part of the episode so that has been edited. The performance is shorter and instead of the lyrics we only hear the choirs backing vocals as they hum along.

In addition at the start of the episode the dancers are performing to an instrumental version of Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Starting Something". This music has also been replaced with another instrumental piece of music.
