LEAGUE RULES 2025/26

1   All league games will consist of 6 singles and 6 doubles best of 5 chalks.

2   The minimum number of players required to fulfil a fixture is 4

3   All league games should be started by 8pm. Teams should be at the venue by 7.45 pm

4   2 boards shall be used in all league games

5   Players can only play in 1 single. Players can play in 2 doubles with different partners

6   To decide who downs, 1 domino is given to the opposing player and the highest downs.  In doubles the winner can let their partner down.

7   The downing player must be  able to follow at least one side of their down. 5 dominoes must be played before a count.

8   If a player plays a wrong domino, or chaps when they can play, they lose the chalk. NOT the whole game. You cannot play out of turn.

9   Covert signals in doubles are not allowed. This is deemed as cheating.

10   If a player picks up 6 doubles in singles or 5 doubles in doubles, they can show the opposing player/players BEFORE the SECOND domino is played and the dominoes are reshuffled.

11  Teams can register as many players as they wish. Players can only be registered to one team.

12 Adding new players during the season. Team captains/vice captains must print the players name and team he/she is signing for. Both captains must sign before the game starts and the chairperson or secretary must be notified before 8pm.

13 Any team failing to attend a meeting will be fined £20

14  Teams failing to fulfill a fixture will be fined £30 and the points awarded to their opponents. 2 points will also be deducted from their league placing.

15   Point system. 2 points for a win, one point for a draw. in the event of a tie on points [for 1st or second at the end of the season] a playoff will decide the winner.

16  Registrations. All players are registered to their team for the whole season. Any player wishing to resign from their team to join another must inform the chairperson in writing at a meeting. If a team dismisses a player during the season, and informs the chairperson, the player is free to sign for another team. He/She must be registered for the new team before 8pm to play on that night.

17 Any team not participating in any Winter cups can allow their players play for one other team. this is for the duration of this years winter cups.

18  If a team puts in a protest, a bond of £20 must be lodged. If they lose the protest they lose the £20. Teams will be notified  and a date fixed to hear the protest.

19   any team wishing to change their venue after the league starts must inform the chairperson asap

If a teams venue closes and no alternative is available the team can play their remaining games away from home. Again the Chairperson must be informed asap. "The team playing their game away instead of home will sign the sheet first,be allowed to sell their own hidden domino sheet and will be responsible for providing food [unless agreed otherwise]"

20 If a team withdraws from the league during the season all points won against them will be withdrawn.

21    If a team needs to change a fixture date they must give at least 2 days notice. the chairperson must be informed at the same time. Teams must try to accomodate the request.

22   A player can request a referee be present during a game. 1 referee from each team

23    League winners and runners up will receive cups. No individual medals.

24     WINTER CUPS  In the event of a 6-6 draw a doubles playoff  will decide who goes through/wins

25    LEAGUE SINGLES  Players must play at the venue they have been drawn to play at. The draw will be made at  8pm on the night.  Players must be on time.

26    LEAGUE  DOUBLES  As above. If your partner is unable to play you can play with another team member NOT already registered to play. Other wise you are out.
