Location: Fairfield, Nebraska
Founded: April 2005, York County Nebraska.
Our Story:
A. & M. Honeybee Farm, is a family owned, United States beekeeping farm based in Nebraska. Formed in York County Nebraska, West of Henderson. We started our Honeybee farm with the mission in mind to protect the United States food supply chain by providing Pollination for U.S. Fruit and produce.
There is a substantial requirement to keep honeybees alive in today's world. The push to keep the pollination lanes open in the U.S. produce industry is extremely important and the task is never easy. Beekeeping today is not like it was yesterday (1980s and before).
It is an ongoing active engagement with honeybees and maintaining their safety. The American produce market hinges heavily on the U.S. Beekeeper. To keep U.S. produce on the shelf the U.S. Beekeeper must be supported first and foremost.

Animal Wellfare:
Animal Wellfare is the #1 priority here. We respond to all issues:
Transportation vs stationary beekeeping: When a known threat of spraying is presented. Hives are loaded onto a truck and trailer and are re-located. Natural occurring hives in tree nests perish when insecticide is applied in an area.
Free range: Hives are managed with Open Entrance "Free of will" to nest, come and go and free to leave if need be. If the nest we provide is inadequate bees will perform what is known as a "swarm" in which they will leave the hive and go find a new home if it is not a sufficient home.
Removal of excess honey: The resources gathered from these hives is taken as surplus. meaning the necessary required food for them to live is left in place. The surplus is removed and pays for Fuel transportation of the hives to new forage pastures, anti insecticide countermeasures.
Controlling Active threats within the hive: Varroa Mites, Hive beetles, Nosema, and Foulbrood are near-recently imported threats brought into the United States by improper port management. Our job is to mitigate and reduce these problems to keep colonies alive.
Antibiotics: Fumidil and Oxytetracycline (Registered under the US Department of Agriculture and under trade marks).* END OF SEASON ONLY.
Used to prevent Honeybee premature death of honeybee larvae, and Disruptive pathogens to the honeybee digestive tract.
Profit: Funds retained from beekeeping are used for the following year's budget and conservation efforts for honeybees, as well as to pay the bills for the operation.
