Welcome to Fabula Publishing, a website dedicated to stories and music for children to share with their parents. The aim of these publications is to open up the classics so that they are easy to understand and assimilate. Listening to and learning about classical music does not have to be the elitist preserve of a minority.
A collection of short stories entitled 'Wolfgang the Wizard Musician and other young composers', published in 2008, is intended as both an educational and fun way to enter this world through the adventures and experiences of famous composers of the past as children growing up. By reading these stories, young people are able to identify with normally remote and distant figures, learning to overcome their struggles in order to succeed. The stories are presented in chronological order, placing them in a historical context.
To enhance the stories, readers can find information about suggested extracts of music, which can be printed off the website. An animated version of the Wolfgang story is planned for the near future.
The stories are aimed at a wide age range, from seven upwards. Their anecdotal nature can even appeal to those in their early teens. It is hoped that parents will read the stories to younger ones, while older children will want to read them for themselves.
