I am an applied economist with interests in health and labor economics. I am professor of economics at Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano where I am also Head of the Department of Economics (IdEP) and Director of the Center for Economic and Political research on aging (CEPRA).
I obtain my PhD in Econometrics in 2011 from University or Rome Tor Vergata. In 2010, I have been visiting researcher at University College of London (UCL).
I am research fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+) and the Munich Center of Economics of Ageing (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, where I worked as Senior Researcher in 2011 and 2012.
I am a founding and board member of the Swiss Society of Health Economics (sggö) which organizes the SSPH+ International Doctoral Courses in Health Economics and Policy.
Since 2017, I have organized a biennal workshop in Lugano with NBER on Aging and Health in collaboration with Jonathan Skinner (Darmouth College and NBER).
