Short biography

Fabrice Guillet is a full professor in Computer Science at Polytech Nantes, the graduate engineering school of University of Nantes, and a member of the “Data User Knowledge” team (DUKe) in the LS2N (CNRS UMR 6004) laboratory. He is vice-president of the French-speaking “Extraction et Gestion des Connaissances (EGC) Association. He has been head of 2 research oriented MSc in computer science (M2R-ECD, EM-DMKM) in Polytech Nantes.

He received a PhD degree in Computer Sciences in 1995 from the "Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications de Bretagne" (IMT), and his Habilitation (HdR) in Computer Science in 2006 from the University of Nantes.

He is a founder of the International French-speaking “Extraction et Gestion des Connaissances (EGC)” Association, president from 2015 to 2019, and he has also been involved in the steering committee of the annual EGC French-speaking Conference since 2001.

His research interests include frequent pattern based and unsupervised machine learning in the frameworks of Data Science and Knowledge Management, with a focus on model learning, ontology learning, textual data, postprocessing and validation (visualization and quality), knowledge engineering and ontology modeling.

He is involved in the program committees of the main international conferences on Data Mining (ACM/IEEE DSAA, ACM KDD, IEEE ICDM, ACM CIKM, SIAM SDM). Author of more than 60 research papers in international conferences and journals, co-editor of 9 refereed books, he has recently co-edited two refereed books of chapter entitled “Quality Measures in Data Mining” and “Statistical Implicative Analysis – Theory and Applications” published by Springer in 2007 and 2008.
