3rd Bergamo Workshop in Econometrics

OVERVIEW

The 3rd Bergamo Workshop in Econometrics (BWE) brings together researchers working at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, economics, and econometrics.

Optimal Transport provides a geometric language for comparing and transforming probability distributions, making it increasingly relevant for questions involving distributional analysis, matching and assignment, heterogeneity, identification, estimation, and causal inference. The workshop aims to foster dialogue between methodological advances and empirical economic applications.

How to reach Bergamo

By air
The closest airport is Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY), located in Orio al Serio, a few kilometres from Bergamo. The airport is connected to Bergamo city centre by local bus services and taxis. Alternative airports are Milan Linate (LIN) and Milan Malpensa (MXP), both connected to Milan and then to Bergamo by train or coach.

By train
Bergamo railway station is connected to Milan and other cities in Lombardy by regional train services. From the station, the venue can be reached by local public transport or taxi

Within Bergamo
Participants can move around the city by local bus, taxi, or on foot depending on the final venue and accommodation. If the workshop is held in or near Città Alta, the historical upper town can also be reached by funicular.
