Course Descriptions
This course focuses on technology planning and professional development for educators, with an emphasis on integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into teaching and learning. Students will acquire knowledge regarding project management, instructional design, and Quality Matters (QM) while developing a GenAI-based instructional course for pre-service teachers.
Course Structure/Approach
This course is structured to facilitate teaching, learning, and designing face-to-face, blended, and/online instructions. Activities are learner-centered, involving individual and cooperative learning, critical thinking about current topics in Educational Technology and development of face-to-face, blended, or online artifacts to support student learning.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of key Project Management processes and Quality Matters standards.
Design an instructional course that integrates GenAI for pre-service teachers.
Apply instructional design principles to create effective learning materials and instructional activities.
Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on peers' instructional designs.
