I am currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, in Valparaiso, Chile. After finishing my PhD at Iowa State University, from 2007
to 2011 I was a electricity markets consultant employed with McLennan Magasanik Associates and Sinclair Knight Merz in Melbourne, Australia, where I worked on renewable energy integration and capacity expansion planning. Since returning to Chile and the UTFSM in 2011, I have been teaching and researching on optimization and the application of probabilistic methods to power systems.
