Abstract: In this introductory chapter to Numerical Cognition: Debates and Disputes, we outline the major questions addressed by conributions in the volume and how it is structured. We also provide a detailed outline of each of the eight sections, including the major issues addressed in each section, why they are noteworthy, and how the contributions contained contribute to them.Â
