This is the official Help page of SatView India.

The app is very simple to use.

The first screen that is displayed is the Preferences Screen

You have various options you can choose from.

• 1. Satellite

     1. Insat-3A: This is the newer satellite of the two and hence has better image quality

     2. Kalpana: Insat 1 is also called Kalpana 

  2. Sector : This option is to choose the region to be viewed

• • 1. Asia : this option shows the region that can be called the Indian subcontinent.

    2. Full Disc: This option shows the entire globe as seen by the satellite

    3. North East: This option focuses on the Norteast part of India

• 3. Channel: The wavelength channel

• • 1. Water Vapor: This channel shows the water vapor density in the atmosphere

    2. Visible : The intensity of light in the visible region of the spectrum

    3. Infrared : The intensity of light in the IR region of the spectrum

    4. Color Composite: This is same as the visible channel but with false coloring added based on the intensity of the signal

• 4. Resolution : This option lets the user to choose the resolution of the image required based on the speed of his internet connection. A low resolution image loads faster by sacrificing the quality. Whereas a high resolution image has good quality but requires a faster internet connection.

After choosing the options that you like, click on the load button to load the latest Satellite image in the Database of the Indian Meteorological Department.
