ARDUINO XLS DRUM SEQUENCER

Concept:

Do a simple, fast and easy to use drum sequencer on MS Excel for Korg Volca Beats Rythm Machine, which everyone could use without installing any additional tool or software. The only required hardware is an Arduino with MIDI connector, and an USB cable to connect to PC and communicate with it.

Hardware:

- Arduino Mega 2560

- Arduino MiDI shield

- and of course a Korg Volca Beats...

Current Status:

- MS Excel sheet with all instruments of Volca Beats Drum/Rythm Machine

- 4 / 4 = 16 beats

- sequence is performed directly on the table, and complete sequence string is written below it

- sequence string to copy and paste into Arduino Software code -> compile -> and beat it !

- buttons still without interaction

to be done:

- communication with Arduino directly over USB serial interface

- live mode to hear sequence during perfomance

- save sequences into harddrive of PC

- coding buttons LOAD, PLAY, STOP/CONT., CLEAR etc

- change each volume and pitch levels, if possible (or some other parameters)

- record some sequences on EEPROM of Arduino, with a specific name. With 512 bytes EEPROM available, maybe two or three sequences are possible with simple storage method

- and other cool things....

This is the Korg Volca Beats Rythm Machine; it is a fully analog drum machine, and I payed EUR 70.- for it (used, but in great conditions):
