About

I am an Associate Professor and, since August 2026, Head of the Department of Computing at Universidad Catolica San Pablo (UCSP), in Arequipa, Peru. My research focuses on data visualization, visual analytics, machine learning, and data science.

At UCSP, I have also served as chair of the Undergraduate Program in Computer Science (2017-2018, 2023-2024) and as Director of the Research and Innovation Center in Computer Science (RICS) (2020-2022). From January to March 2025, I was a visiting scholar at the VIDA Center, New York University, USA. Before that, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at the Center for the Study of Violence (NEV) at the University of São Paulo (USP) (2019-2020). and a PhD research intern in the Visual Analytics and Comprehension Research Group at IBM Research - BRL (2016-2017).
I hold a Ph.D. (2017) and an M.Sc. (2012) in Computer Science from the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (ICMC) - USP, São Carlos, Brazil. and a B.Sc. in Informatics Engineering from UCSP.
