I've lived in eight states, all of them progressively further north. At this rate my nursing home will be above the Arctic Circle, even though I really HATE snow.
I graduated from the University of West Florida with a BA in History in 1999. Since then I worked in fields ranging from radio to construction to law to finance, finally landing at eLearning design, you know, those online trainings you click through because your employer makes you? Yeah, I make those.
Once I escaped the cult (oh yes, there's a story there, coming to a bookshelf near you as soon as I can bear to relive it in my nightmares) I began writing and editing. In 2004 I won the Maumee Valley Writers’ Conference Short Story Contest and I've been going strong ever since! In 2013, I won the "My Secret Lansing" contest in the Micro category. Yes, I won a tweet contest. Yes, the irony of me not having a Twitter account has not escaped me. Since then I've been writing an submitting short stories, which you can find at the Find My Work link in the corner.
I am also the editor of the book, "Stories and Poems? We're All Forum: The Best of the Northwest Ohio Writers' Forum" which was published in November of 2006 and is available through Amazon.
