Ways to Get Involved

As the parent of a child in the Eric Hamber Challenge Studio Mini-School, there are a number of ways you can get involved in school life. Here are a list of parent activities that are already going on that you can join. You are also welcome to come up with your own ideas to bring to the group. Our group is flexible and supportive, and we welcome the addition of new ideas, people and energy to the group.

1. Studio Parent Meetings (see Calendar for the schedule) - please feel free to suggest agenda items via Contact Us

2. Participation in the Social Committee, which organizes social events, such as potlucks, for Studio families.

3. Participation in the Fundraising Committee, which raises funds for Studio field studies and materials (see proposed field studies document here)

4. Participation in the Enrichment Committee, which provides assistance to Ms. Poon and to Studio Leadership students in the pursuit of enrichment activities such as workshops, guest speakers, field trips, etc.

5. Advocate with the VSB for more support for all mini programs, specifically for more prep time for head teachers

6. Studio Sessions - be a parent expert speaker

7. Attend Studio family potlucks

8. Advocate with the BC government to support funding for schools and school enrichment programs. Please visit Protect Public Education Now for ideas on how to support this initiative. This website was founded by a Studio parent.

If you would like to get involved, please email HamberChallengeStudioParents@gmail.com.
