I am a native of Hillsboro, Oregon. I enjoy retreats to Oregon as frequently as possible to catch up with friends and family and take advantage of the spectacular outdoor scene the Pacific Northwest offers. I have two younger sisters, Lauren and Sarah, who are as beautiful as they are smart, and they put me to shame in both categories. I have also been blessed with two of the best parents a person could ask for. One of my favorite pastimes is to visit the Oregon coast with family and friends to run with our dogs.
My education includes an undergraduate degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond's Jepson School as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Pittsburgh. These programs prepared me for my current position on the faculty in the political science department at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Outside of my work, however, I'm often found playing hockey or strumming my guitars. I have a passion for aviation, as well, and look forward to getting my pilot's certificate.
I am also an avid sports fan, and in the fall you will find me cheering on the Oregon Ducks and Pittsburgh Steelers on the gridiron, the Portland Trail Blazers on the court, and the Pittsburgh Penguins on the ice.
