FWIW, I have two uncles who are LEOs, my brother is a LEO, and I have quite a few friends who are LEOs. It's the ones who don't know me I worry about. <grin>
And remember, these recommendations are especially important if you are/become a person of interest, but are truly INNOCENT (and only you can be the judge... and God, but He's waiting His turn).
Here are a couple of smart guys. Either they are truly innocent, or they got away with it due to lack of evidence - either way, they didn't become their own worst problem!

When Glens Falls Police officers Seth French and Brian Lashway went to question them, they found the two had spray paint, markers of the type often used for tagging, that they were wearing rubber gloves and one had a book of graffiti images, Knoop said. They also had what appeared to be spray paint on their clothes, Knoop said.
They would not talk with police about whether they were to blame for the recent vandalism, but were instead charged with the misdemeanors of possession of graffiti instruments, police said.
