I am an Assistant Professor in the Statistics group of the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam. My research focuses on survival analysis, non- and semi-parametric estimation methods and shape constrained statistical inference. Currently I am working on development of new methodologies within the framework of cure rate models for dealing with survival data in the presence of long-term survivors or cured individuals.
I am also interested in applications of statistical methods in the medical field and I have recently started a collaboration with Leiden University Medical Center and Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology on the project “Long term survival after childhood osteosarcoma: cure models”. More information about the project can be found here.
