The string Say you so? is a grammatical yes-no question in Elizabethan English (Early Modern English), but ungrammatical in Present Day English. Explain the difference in grammaticality. In order to answer this question, you will need to show derivations in the two rule systems (one which generates the string and one which doesn't) and then pinpoint the place in the two different derivations where PDE fails to provide the machinery to generate the string, while demonstrating the EModE does generate the sentence.
