At the Temple City High School, the Engineering Design Technology class introduces students to engineering and technical drawings through the use of sketching, computer-aided drafting (CAD) and dimensioning. Techniques covered included geometric construction, orthographic projection, pictorial methods, section views, basic descriptive geometry, 2D CAD, and 3D CAD parametric solid modeling.
The advanced Engineering Design Technology class introduces more complex 3D modeling tools on SolidWorks. These tools allow modelers to model more complex objects. The class also prepares the students for the CSWA SolidWorks certification exam.
