Was still able to retrieve the password or pin using physical (boot-loader) extraction using the Cellebrite UFED TOUCH 2 V7
By using the other devices, like iPad 4 to download some of these applications
[See below for the complete steps to update the Cellebrite UFED TOUCH 2] There was limited documentation on how to properly do the updating of the Cellebrite UFED TOUCH 2 from V5 to V7 (attached below). In addition, the prompt by the Cellebrite UFED TOUCH 2 is ambiguous, but we found out that the BIN file was actually located within the CPKG file. Refer to Steps To Update UFED TOUCH 2 to V7.8.0.942 section below...
RESEARCH - Installing_CPKG_File.pdf
We found a UFED Reader that was available on the Cellebrite Portal that allows you to read the report generated from UFED Physical Analyzer
Download the latest version cpkg file from the Cellebrite Portal (Either one Highlighted below), but for our case we downloaded UFED Touch2 for CMS Distribution 7.8 (Jul. 2018) package
Once download has completed, unzip the file
Locate the cpkg file
right click the cpkg file and open with winRAR
extract and copy both bin files into the USB flash drive in the root folder
Plug the USB flash drive with the files into the Cellebrite UFED TOUCH 2
Press settings on the navigation bar on top
Now you are at the General Settings
Go to the versions tab, on this tab click on USB and it should locate the files directly
Select the package and click install package
Wait for the update to complete (should consists of a windows update and multiple reboots)
Once complete it should auto boot into the new version, in this case with the UI changes
