Criteria

Each website chosen by our team of cyber-gnomes must fit a certain set of criteria before being posted onto the Encyclopedia. What follows are the negatives, red flags, if you will, we look for in all internet URL lands:

1) It cannot be a well-known website by the majority of people or a website that isn't especially cool or strange. That's why websites like Facebook and College Humor aren't here.

2) The website cannot be based solely on inappropriate content (e.g. swearing, pornography, "NSFW"), and too much of it will ruin its chances of appearing. Cracked is an example where, although slander is included in many articles, the website itself is that of humor and can be avoided with proper discretion.

3) No websites are allowed if all it is is a GIF or a picture. It has to be a legitimate website.

4) Typically, sitelets of a much greater website are not included. However, in some cases (e.g. PARK websites), the main website is broken down into a multitude of smaller ones.

5) If malware is detected or the site itself has been deleted, it will be prevented from entering the Encyclopedia or will be removed as soon as possible from the list.

6) No matter what the case is (with the exception of "Scary Maze Game"), shock sites will not be posted on this website... ever.

7) Though it may have a promising idea, if the website seems too rudimentary, non-visually appealing, or bland, it will not be included.

8) Game sites are not added, but games are, including websites that are dedicated to only one game (e.g. Pacxon).

9) No Tumblrs. Nope. Unless they're amazing... nope.

10) Typically, no games from a website are allowed (e.g. Kongregate, Armor Games), but, if the game is unique, odd, or a blast to play, expect to find it on the ol' Encyclopedia Websitica!

11) If the website is popular but is also fairly odd, it'll be on here.

12) No. Weird. Dating. Sites.

13) Google Chrome, Moxie Code, and other experiments are all good in all, but they have to stand out to be on here.

14) No YTMND.

15) No virtual instruments of any kind (unless they're exceptionally unique).

16) No wikis.
