I am an Associate Professor and the Mellon Chair in Ancient Greek Philosophy at University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research interests lie primarily in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, especially ethics and moral psychology. I have written a number of articles about pleasure, human nature, and the good life in two of Plato’s late dialogues, the Philebus and the Timaeus. I am currently working on a book about the defense of justice in the Republic. My teaching interests extend beyond the history of philosophy to contemporary ethics and feminist philosophy.
