About ELLSA Committees

Executive Committee

Fulfilling the ELLSA mission and caring for the administrative tasks of the organization, this committee handles budget approvals, by-law amendments, special projects, and general membership meetings.

Social Committee

The Social Committee uses entertainment to foster and unite the library community. Planning events including the annual costume contest, holiday party, and spring ice cream social is just one way they strive to bring departments together in fun, interactive, and engaging activities.

Staff Lounge Committee

Creating a haven of peace and creativity! This committee keeps our lounge attractive, restful, and inviting. Members decorate seasonally, regularly refresh the table dressing, and make furniture acquisitions as resources become available.

Ways and Means Committee

Ways and Means is all about the money! Finding efficient and fun ways to raise money, from t-shirt sales to book fairs, they do it all. They also recommend budgets for each year to the Executive Committee.

Welcoming Committee

The Welcoming Committee provides a warm welcome to new full time staff with small gifts and welcome lunches.

Wellness Committee

The Wellness Committee supports the mental and physical well-being of library staff. The design programs to share information about meditation, stress management, nutrition, and exercise. The goal is to engage staff in pursuing a healthy lifestyle, provide support, and generate an atmosphere of wellness in the library.
