The Tiger Cub Scout uniform has the following parts:
1. Shirt - The official Cub Scout uniform shirt (long or short sleeves.) Don't forget that your child can wear this same shirt through 4th grade and to size appropriately!
2. Pants - (Optional) Shorts, long pants, zip-off pants, skorts, and roll up pants are all available in official blue.
3. Belt - Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle (this is important because your Scout will earn beltloops that go on it for completing adventures!)
4. Socks - (Optional) Official socks are available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee. Tiger socks have an orange band on the top.
5. Hat - Official blue hat with orange front and Tiger emblem.
6. Neckerchief - Orange triangular neckerchief with Tiger logo. The pack provides you a neckerchief to use throughout the year, though you are free to purchase your own if you'd like.
7. Neckerchief slide - Official gold-tone metal slide with orange Tiger emblem. The pack provides you a slide to use throughout the year, though you are free to purchase your own if you'd like.
8. Shirt patches - American flag patch, Baltimore Area Council patch, and Pack numbers (3, 6, 0 in white thread with red background.) Shirts bought at a retail location may be purchased with flag and council patches already sewn on (you'll still end up paying for them but you won't have to sew them on yourself!)
Ready to sew? Please consult leaders in the pack, the Cub Scout handbook, or Scout Shop employees for proper placement of badges. Placement for some badges has changed a few times over the past few years, and those resources will help ensure you're up to date.
Sewing not in your skillset? No worries! Scout Shops sell (in store and online) a product called "Badge Magic." This semi-permanent heat-set double-stick tape allows you to place patches on your uniform shirts and then set them in your dryer!
The Uniform Code:
Your child should/will be encouraged to wear this uniform appropriately. The shirt should always be tucked in and orderly. They should understand the importance of representing the entire Scouting America organization while in uniform.
