Personal Reflection
As teachers move from fully F2F to Blended Online classrooms, many current instructional methodologies need to change. Creating online or blended units require a full re-thinking of delivery methods and assessment strategies. Online teachers must continually network with colleagues and pursue professional development opportunities to expand upon skills and strategies to best support online learners. The blended online environment requires advanced and appropriate tools to increase student knowledge acquisition, comprehension and retention. Online instructors need to work diligently to have increased awareness and experience with various LMS software packages, digital collaboration tools such as VoiceThread, and video and screen Capture software such as Screenr. Utilizing these technologies will enhance teachers' ability to offer differentiated instruction and utilize instructional, collaborative and assessment strategies in a Blended Online environment.
