I am a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. I work on and teach a broad range of topics, including feminism, moral responsibility, and ethics. My book, Ways to be Blameworthy: Rightness, Wrongness, and Responsibility is just out with Oxford University Press.

I am currently Deputy Head of Department and Postgraduate Director for Philosophy.

I spent the academic year 2015-16 on a Laurence S. Rockefeller Visiting Fellowship at Princeton University. I have also recently held visiting positions at Dartmouth College and The University of Colorado, Boulder. Before coming to Edinburgh I was an assistant professor at CU Boulder, and before that, assistant professor Arizona State University.

I did my PhD at Reading University, and during my studies spent time at the Australian National University (on a Northcote Scholarship) and at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

I am the Equalities officer for the British Society for Ethical Theory, and I am the Ethics area editor for the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy. I serve on the editorial board of Philosophical Quarterly and The  Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy. I am on the Executive Committee of The Aristotelian Society.
