I am a Professor of Mathematics at the University Iba Der Thiam of Thies. I recieved my PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Rennes 1 in 2009, and my MS degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Vision and Machine Learning (MVA) from École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay in 2006. Before joining UT, I had several postdoctoral fellowships, within the Institut Mines-Telecom Atlantique and LaTIM (INSERM U 650), the Center of Mathematical Morphology of the Department of Mathematics and Systems at MINES ParisTech, and the AI Vision & Language lab at CEA . My research interests are on mathematical signal, image and data processing, and include geometrical methods in deep learning, PDEs and variational methods, topological shape optimization, scale-spaces, mathematical morphology, Empirical Mode Decomposition, AM-FM models and Teager-Kaiser operators. I served as the Head of the Department of Mathematics from July 2020 to July 2023.
