I whole heartedly recommend Willie Sohner, who’s the son of a friend of many of us in this community. In the recent past he pruned trees for us on the path from our property to the camp, cut down trees for Fran, and has worked for Irv. His number is 919-998-9000. He’s extremely skilled, and amazing to watch!

Other vendors are further away, so haul cost overshadows any stone savings we might get from shopping around.
"ABC," "crush and run," "crusher run," and variations all refer to gravel as it comes out of the crusher, with all sizes from pretty big down to dust. This is the best material to build up a road surface. When it dries out, the dust (some people say "sand", another term is "fines") lock teh stones together like weak concrete.
"67" gravel is screened so only stones around an inch long come through. This gravel is good for drainage and to lay down in muddy places.
Other sizes are available, see the website.
"Tailgate spreading" is the term for the practice of opening the bottom of the dump-truck tailgate a few inches and tilting the bed up so the stone comes out in a thick layer. That can be compacted, spread out, or just driven over: see compaction on Baer Hill, Sep2017.

These guys fixed the culvert by the mailboxes in Spring 2018. Fair price, good work.

These guys are the pros. Their price for a truckload (15 tons) of ABC, delivered and tailgate spread, was $403 on 03Aug2018. That's only about $25 more than Ferguson. They have their own supply, and probably get bulk discounts from the quarry.
The guy I talked to warned me that tailgate spreading doesn't always work with ABC - if it's wet it can clump like cat litter.
One time, clueless, I drove in there with my S10 for a "load" of gravel. They filled the truck bed from a bucket loader - the bucket was as long as my little truck but it had a spin axis that let them ease the stone in there. They didn't break anything or even scratch much paint. Larry.
