7PM Holiday gathering
Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday on the following months: March, April, May, June, September, October, November, and December. Meetings begin at 7 pm. Most meetings start with a guest speaker who has some expertise on an environmental, conservation, or recreational out door topic.
We have enjoyed knowledgeable people who have spoken about owls and other raptors, putting the meanders back in streams, canoe and canoe building, land trust and how to join one, the Elgin 2020 Plan, Elgin-Fox River Downtown Development plan, bird and plant identification, and many other interesting topics.
Following the program, we have a business meeting.
Our executive meetings are the third Tuesday of February, May, July, September, and November, The executive boards role is to chart a course of action for the chapter.
In addition to our meetings, we have in the past hosted fund raisers such as a pancake breakfast, ice cream social, as well as educational offerings such as bird feeder and bird house workshops. Nonmembers are always welcome to attend any of our functions.'
