Profile

Dr. Jung joined the School of Mechanical engineering at Chonnam National University, Korea in March 2015. Before joining Chonnam National University, he worked at Battery R&D in LG Chem from 2010 to 2015. He led his Advanced Battery Simulation group and conducted various projects about battery and electric vehicles. He received his doctorate in Mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and his BA and MS from Seoul National University. Prior to joining academia, he also worked as an industrial consultant in production planning and supply chain management from 2001 to 2003.

Research Interests

Seunghun’s general research topic is electrochemical power system. His work particularly focuses on automotive batteries, ESS and fuel cells. He’s been working on development of multi-physics, multi-dimensional computational models of lithium-ion battery, redox flow battery, and fuel cells for automotive and residential applications. He also has interests in system-level engineering such as battery pack system, fuel cell system based on thermo-fluidic science, heat and mass transfer, and control engineering.
