About the
3D Print Lab

The El Dorado Hills Library 3D Print Lab began in 2015 with one 3D printer at the Circulation Desk. Since then, the Print Lab has become its own designated space in the library and is home to numerous printers, including Prusa i3s, Printrbot Simple Metals, and a Folgertech FT-5. We even have a 3D scanner!

The El Dorado Hills Library 3D Print Lab is funded by a grant from the Serrano Men's Book Club. The grant covers both equipment and material costs.

Thanks to the generosity of SMBC and the patrons who have donated to us, all members of the community have free access to all of the tools and materials in the 3D print lab.

If you would like to make a contribution to the 3D Print Lab fund, you can add to our donation jar or speak with library staff.

Another great way to make contributions to the Print Lab is through our Amazon wishlist.

Donations of materials keep the print lab fully stocked and allow for us to devote funds to machine upgrades and new projects.

If you place Amazon orders through AmazonSmile, select El Dorado County Friends of the Library as your charity of choice and .5% of all purchases will go to the library at no additional cost to you!

The El Dorado Hills Library is a proud chapter of e-NABLE, a community of makers from all over the world who are using their 3D printers to create free prosthetic hands and arms for those in need of assistive devices.
