I have two kids in Espoo International School in grades 3 and 6. I don't embarrass them by making them come to the maths club but they are my guinea pigs at home :)
Professionally I am a research mathematician at Aalto University. Although originally from Australia, I have studied and worked in the USA, Germany, UAE, and now Finland.
Aalto University runs a number of good outreach activities through the LUMA centre. Their Scientists in School program has been very active and it was after some school visits through this program that I decided to start the maths club at EIS.
Besides mathematics I am interested in science and nature. Where possible I incorporate these things into the math club activities. Especially shape/geometry and patterns in nature and the universe at large.
